Homemade Gummi Candy

Homemade Gummi candy

1 Fruit jell liquid pectin

1 tblsp water

1/4 tsp baking soda

1 1/2 c sugar

1/2 c corn syrup

1 pkg kool-aid unsweetened

1 tsp water

Square pan 8 x 8

Med. Sauce pan

Cooking spray

Wooden spoon

Cutting board

~~Spray pan with cooking spray

~~Mix pectin, 1 tblsp. Water and baking soda in sauce pan

~~Cook on med high flame until foam has settled

~~Remove from heat

~~Stir in sugar and corn syrup

~~Mix kool aid and 1 tsp water until dissolved

~~Add to sauce pan

~~Heat on high to a full boil, stirring constantly

~~Keep at a hard boil for 1 1/2 minute

~~Remove from heat

~~Continue stirring until boiling has stopped (no more bubbles)

~~Pour into 8 x 8 pan

~~Let cool on a FLAT surface.

When cool----

~~Loosen sides of pan

~~Invert on cutting board

~~Use cookie cutters to make shapes

~~Roll or sprinkle in sugar to coat

~~Store in an air tight container

To make worms-----

Fat straws

~~Follow all directions above

~~Slide fat straws into pan

~~When set take straws out

~~With finger squeeze gummi out of straw

~~Make a small slit along one end and peel off

Optional----

~~Use candy molds to make fish, hearts, bears, or whatever

~~After filling shake to settle gummi mixture
