After reading the story

Present the children with the same items

Ask:

If I give you a muffin would you like some jam to go with it?

*Hint: cut the muffins into 4ths (to follow story)

Pretend to go to the store (outside time)

Put on coats

When you come inside remind the children the next part of the story

Present the children with sewing cards

Puppets

Paints (for scenery) at easel or wherever

Have clean up time

Ask the children if they want some jam

* taste test different varieties

Give them time to complete each portion

At the end of all the activities ask them again

Would you like a muffin?

Then say

Didn’t we just do this?

Do the same for:

Give a mouse a cookie

Pig a pancake
