Lyrics

Herman the “Paper” Worm

Drinking straw with wrapper

Glass of water

~~Push wrapper to the bottom of straw

Or

~~Remove wrapper and fold accordion style

~~Dip straw in water

~~Place one finger over top of straw

~~Remove

*Hint

There should be a drop or two of water in the straw when you remove it from the glass

~~Ask the children what will happen when you put the water on the wrapper?

*Hint

It may help to remind them about how “Herman” kept getting bigger

~~Carefully add 1 drop of water to the folded wrapper

~~The wrapper will expand as the water spreads to the rest of the wrapper
